Hungarian-born children's book writer and illustrator. Among her many notable books, her first and fourth(The Good Master and The Singing Tree) were Newbery Honor books while her second, The White Stag, won the Newbery Award. When the Caldecott Honor list was created in 1971, Seredy was retroactively named a recipient for the year 1945 for her illustrations for The Christmas Anna Angel by Ruth Sawyer.
