Between the Covers

Unbound. Wire photo. Image measuring approximately 9¼" x 7½" on slightly larger paper. Verso with agency stamp and caption snipe tipped-on there. Photograph with light but pervasive vertical creasing (almost certainly as a result of the wire photo process), caption snip partially split at the fold, very good. "Approximately three hundred members of a Negro veterans organization marched on City Hall here today requesting Negro policemen for their sections of Atlanta. The carried placards reading: 'For Negro Police' and '105,000 Negro Citizens Rate at least One Negro Policeman.' The demonstration was orderly and was witnessed by several hundred white people."
