Novelization of the 1976 Best Picture Oscar winner which suffered more than a little in stature because of the series of sequels it spawned. The original film, however, was a simple and unaffected love story which, in addition to making a star out of its writer/lead actor, contained the most realistic boxing footage shot up to that time.
