Half leather with papercovered boards, marbled endpapers and page ends, gilt title on front board and spine, which also has raised bands. Detached rear board, detached front endpaper, several signatures loose but attached, splitting along both sides of the spine and the corners significantly rubbed, fair only. The author was the Inspector of Police and Chief of Detectives for the New York City Police Department. A complete, albeit distresses copy, of this notable book.
