Between the Covers

Hardcover. First editions. Complete in seven volumes (six volumes plus an index volume, printed later). Octavos. Approximately 5,000 pages. One volumes with the owner name of Raymond S. Spears (possibly the author and newspaper man) on the front pastedown. Maroon cloth gilt. Modest to moderate general wear, a few volumes a bit cocked, hinges reinforced in a couple of places, and bindings of two volumes heavy discoloration at the edges (affecting the edges of the pastedowns just a bit), one of those volumes with a chip at the spine base, sound and about very good. Compliments of state historian Hugh Hastings, with a printed slip tipped-on to the front flyleaves of the first two volumes.
