Inscribed in different months 1991, Quarles has written "To Brooks Morris best wishes in the good work - Benjamin Quarles March 28, 1991," and Franklin "To Brooks Morris and his classes, with the cordial best wishes of John Hope Franklin Durham, N.C. August 13, 1991."
