Unbound. Typed Letter Signed ("Booker T. Washington"). Typed on Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute letterhead and dated November 30, 1901. Letter is approximately 7¾" x 5¼". Old folds from mailing, else fine. Written to Treasurer Logan, Washington informs him he's decided to put a room in the girls' dormitory for religious purposes. In full:
Dear Mr. Logan:
I have decided to put a room in the new girls dormitory for religious purposes, and for this reason you can give orders to discard the plan which we had discussed of having such a room in the old laundry build and as fast as possible you can have the laundry turned into dormitories for girls. Yours truly, Booker T. Washington."
Brief but interesting note displaying Washington's desire to expand the school. The vast majority of the Washington correspondence one encounters is usually with fund raising for the school.
