Propaganda pamphlet in support of Gen. George B. McClellan's nomination for President in opposition to Abraham Lincoln in the 1864 US election. Despite McClellan's hawk-like statements to the contrary, the Democrats were opposed to the continuation of the War. This campaign pamphlet begins with McClellan's letter of acceptance of the nomination from the National Democratic Convention, provides correspondence of others favorable to him, and correspondence or opinions that the Confederacy feared McClellan. It also provides various previous statements of Lincoln's, mostly taken out of context attempting to impugn his competence to be President: Lincoln advocating the right of secession in 1848, as well as his supposed weakly held interest in abolishing slavery.
