Between the Covers

Softcover. First edition. Cover by Anne Cloutier. Slim octavo. About fine in stapled wrappers. Inscribed to poet and Poe scholar Daniel Hoffman on the first page, and with a 1972 Typed Letter Signed to him laid in. In the letter, Gelfond catches Hoffman up on her activities. At one point she writes of giving a reading, but "I was really put off by 'The Group'---most of whom seem to be connected with the St. Marks 'School' in New York (which I'd never heard of till recently)... I feel I'm probably being close-minded about 'I-went-to-the-store-to-buy-a-green-pepper;-saw-Victor...' poems. I don't know."
