Engravings by Richard Westall. 12mos. 371, 388, 367, and 436pp. Half red morroco (binding by "Tout") with marbled boards and endpapers, ribbon bookmark, all edges gilt, six spine compartments with five raised bands, and gilt lettering and designs. A touch of edgewear at the corners, later 1890s pencil gift inscription in each volume, as well as with scattered light pencil notes in the margins, typically consisting of a few words or a score mark or "X" to highlight a passage, still about fine. A beautiful four-volume of this landmark of world literature.
