Owner name on the front blank, binding with slight loss at the corners and spine ends, preliminary leaves very lightly foxed and ad leaves in the rear moderately so, coated front fly with a tiny chip, a very good copy.
Poem titles in this volume include "A Rhapsody of a Southern Winter Night"; "Hymn, sung at the Consecration of Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston, (S. C.)"; and "Hymn, sung at an Anniversary of the Asylum of Orphans at Charleston." Also prints 14 of the author's sonnets. Timrod was considered the Poet laureate of the Confederacy; the year after this book was published, Timrod would return to his home state of South Carolina and begin writing poems supporting the Southern war effort.
