Los Angeles: C. Sharpe Minor Company, 1920.
Price: $150.00
Softcover. Sheet music. Quarto. Single bifolium making two pages. Possibly missing a second bifolium that would serve as the front and back covers (the music is complete), music shop stamp at the bottom of page three (Cooper's Melody Shop, Los Angeles), and corners bumped, still very good. For voice and piano. Plate imprint, "Susan Doozan 3." Above the music is printed "Professional Copy." According to the website *Rag Piano*, this song is from of a set of songs that Byron Gay "composed with *Wizard of Oz* author L. Frank Baum for the whimsical stage musical *The 1916 Uplifters' Minstrels*, written for the Los Angeles group of the same name. Of those, 'Susan Doozan' was the only [one] known to have made it into print in 1920, a year after Baum's death." An intriguing and uncommon piece, *OCLC* locates only a single holding.
