Between the Covers

Hardcover. Small publisher's broadside. Small quarto sheet of thin paper, measuring 6¾" x 9½". Printed recto only. Old horizontal fold, edges tanned with modest wear, very good or better. Small broadside advertising Casa Editrice Edoardo Luciano Pietrantonio's inaugural book: Vincenzo Giuliani's *L'anima Nascosta: la possente rivelazione letteraria di un giovane giornalista* (*The Hidden Soul: A Young Journalist's Powerful Literary Revelation*). Also prints positive blurbs from five periodicals.

The book was indeed published—we find reference to it being reviewed in a 1934 issue of *Books Abroad*—but *OCLC* locates no copies of this book, another book advertised as forthcoming (the playwright and librettist Camillo Antona Traversi's *Un'opera letteraria interessantissima dell'insigne scrittore*), or, for that matter, any titles by the Larino publishing house. (N.B. We admit to not combing the international databases.) An interesting and presumably rare survivor, advertising a new publisher's first title.
