Printed on a Berkeley-Carteret Hotel letterhead and dated January 7th, 1942 the letter is Signed by the sales manager of the hotel, M.J. Kelley and addressed to a "friend". Kelley welcomes this attendee to the meeting taking place at the hotel in Asbury Park, New Jersey on January 15th and 16th and advises them to make reservations in advance. At the meeting the Farm Bureau adopted a resolution that harvesting be done on a community basis, that State child labor laws and the restrictions on migratory labor be relaxed and that high school pupils be given credit for doing farm work in lieu of classroom work during the war.
