Softcover. Volume 1, Numbers 1 through 24 (missing Number 23). Quartos. Nested bifolia averaging 12 to 14 pages per issue. Some issues printed in dark blue, others in black. Each issue folded once or twice for mailing, some with a mailing label, all partially toned, some moreso than others, and some with light wear, overall a very good collection. A nearly complete run of the first year of Harper's *Bookletter*. A *New York Times* writeup announcing the publication describes it as containing, "Reviews, essays and commentary on books, book people and aspects of the book trade," and goes on the add, "The principal editors of *Bookletter*, Suzanne Mantell and Lewis H. Lapham, admit to a bias in favor of authors and said reviews will seek to praise the books in question; and unfavorable reviews will be written more in sorrow than envy."
