Approximately 100 pieces of late 19th century Baltimore governmental ephemera, including payroll for workers, receipts for goods including equipment, supplies, food, etc., and checks for court jurors. Includes paperwork for goods and services paid out by many different Baltimore city departments, including the Comptroller of the City of Baltimore, Baltimore City Fire Department, Commissioner of Health, City Council, Baltimore City Jail, Office of the Commission of Public Parks, The Court of Common Pleas for Baltimore City, Criminal Court of Baltimore City, and more. One notable payroll includes the salaries of the Mayor, the City Counsellor [sic], the City Solicitor, the City Comptroller, and many other members of Baltimore City Council.
