Very good or better with a touch of edgewear, nicks at the spine ends and tear to the spine professionally repaired. Memorial volume for Caroline L. Champney (1821-1865). She was born in Brooklyn to John Floyd, the first U.S. Naval Constructor, before moving to Portsmouth, New Hampshire with her family, where she eventually met and married Edward W. Champney. She died suddenly in 1865, before dying suddenly at 45. *OCLC* locates five copies.
