"Written on September 8, 1988, with reflection on an invitation received to attend a reception celebrate the marriage of the eldest daughter of dearly valued friends... ." Presumably printed in small numbers in connection with the wedding. The bride co-edited Volume 2 of the author's literary memoir and her mother, Elizabeth C. Friedmann, co-edited Jackson's *First Awakenings: The Early Poems*. We locate only two copies in *OCLC* (under the title "Every earnest bond entered into...)," at Cornell and Vanderbilt (who also has a proof copy).
