Hardcover. Sixteenth printing, American edition. Commentary by Havelock Ellis. Owner name, boards with a bit of wear, corners and spine ends slightly bumped, spine lightly sunned, still very good, lacking the dust jacket. The controversial story of an Englishwoman named Stephen Gordon who was in love with another woman during World War II. This novel was once deemed obscene for supporting lesbianism and it still causes much debate today. A nice relatively early issue, first published in the U.S. in 1928.
