Unbound. Carnival ticket, measuring 3¾" x 2¾". A bit of soiling most notably on the verso, a couple of nicks along the edges, about near fine. A ticket for the 15th Annual Police Athletic Carnival held at Shibe Park in Philadelphia, October 4th, 1919. The ticket advertises "Running, Jumping, Boxing, Wrestling, and other Athletic Events... For the benefit of the Police Pension Fund Association." More than 10,000 people were in the audience to honor the wounded veterans present, and to watch the policemen compete in events like a mile walk in full uniform, a "Big Fat Men's 100-yard dash" for policemen over 250 lbs, high jump, sack race, and more. "The climax of the day's events occured when nearly twenty tall men, short men, fat and thin men, participated in a battle royal, which aroused the crowds applause time after time..."
