[no place: no publisher, circa 1860's-1870's].

Price: $450.00

Unbound. Broadside. Measuring 8½" x 16". Folded horizontally in half, with additional old folds throughout, modestly soiled, several small chips and tears along the edges, very good overall. The stereopticon was an improved slide projector, or "magic lantern," invented by Massachusetts chemist and businessman John Fallon around 1860. The broadside advertises a series of stereopticon showings open to the public, with a detailed list of scenes to be shown over the course of six nights. It states that the equipment is "under the especial charge of T. Leyland, Esq.," and that "Its exhibition and management are in the hands of Tilly Haynes, of Springfield, Mass."
