[Vinyl Record]: Miles Davis’ Greatest Hits

New York: Columbia, [1969].

Price: $30.00

Softcover. Original compilation stereo 12" 33 1/3 rpm vinyl record. Liner notes by George Frazier. Some light wear from being handled and played, still very good or better in a very good cardboard sleeve with some pen on the back cover marked with white-out, a small abrasion on the front cover from the removal of a price sticker, and rubbing. CS 9808. The liner notes on the back cover feature a short, humorous article by *Esquire* jazz and style writer George Frazier, titled, "The War Lord of the Weejuns," in which Frazier primarily talks about Davis' taste in clothes, ending the piece, "When not selecting additions to his wardrobe, Miles Davis is a professional trumpet player. People who know about such things tell me he shows a lot of promise." Of course where Davis is concerned, a true "Greatest Hits" would comprise of at least a dozen full LPs, but this single LP will still get you off to a good start as it includes the pieces "'Round Midnight," "E.S.P.," "My Funny Valentine," and five other classic tracks.
