[The Meiji Era and the Imperial Navy]

Tokyo: Kure Shipyard, 1957.

Price: $100.00

Softcover. Presumed first edition. 121pp. with a fold-out map. Text in Japanese. Cloth over thin boards stamped in gilt. Illustrated from black and white photographs. Dampstaining to the boards only lightly affecting the interior, and bumping to the corners, a good only copy. Please forgive our poor translations and/or spellings, we had to rely on a translation app as we are not versed in Japanese; after much searching we were able to locate this publication on *OCLC,* which lists only three holdings of this title, and from which we took the Kanji for our listing. From what we can gather, this was written by a Naval engineer based out of Kure City, a historic naval port city which is now home to a maritime museum known as Yamato Museum, named after the Yamato battleship. The *OCLC* entries appear to suggest that a second volume was published in 1958.
