Softcover. Mechanically reproduced leaves printed rectos only. Stapled wrappers. 15pp. Toning on the front wrapper thus very good. A manual for stenographers at the Alexander Film Company dated 1939. An introduction reads, "every business office has its own method of procedure. Our operation, terms, phraseology, and so forth, are essentially different. This makes the new stenographer's work difficult at first." It continues, "the purpose of this booklet is to familiarize the new stenographer with our way of doing things, that she may reach the goal of 'perfect letters' in the shortest possible time." From there the manual discusses topics such as "letter construction," "punctuation," and "neatness," among others. The Alexander Film Company was started by J. Don and Don M. Alexander and moved their facility to Colorado Springs in 1928. According to historian Ed Osborne, they "specialized in producing short advertisement clips shown in movie theaters."
