Nicely Inscribed to the author Charlotte Zolotow by the translator Nana Mirai facing the title page: "To my dearest Charlotte Zolotow, with much love Nana 2007 Sept. 11." A nice association: Mirai translated at least a dozen of Zolotow's books into Japanese. The first edition of *William's Doll*, published in 1972, was an early children's book that addressed nontraditional gender stereotypes.
