Between the Covers

Unbound. Reward of merit. Measuring 6½" x 2¾". Printed card with a handcolored baseball scene, with flowers, a book and quill pen, an anchor, an anvil, an American flag and a blank line to present the card. This card was not presented, with those lines left blank. Small nicks at the corners, faint sticker shadow on blank verso, else near fine. chip on one corner, a couple of faint spots of foxing, and a bit of toning. Image of young boys playing baseball: a batter, a catcher, and a runner. The illustration is reminiscent of baseball images of books on sports and games published circa 1845-1850. A nice example.
