Hardcover. First American edition. Translated by Otto P. Schinnerer from the German *Traumnovelle.* Tiny bookseller label, and a tiny date stamp on front fly, light wear to the extremities of the boards, a near fine copy of a cheaply produced volume in a very good plus dust jacket with some slight tanning at the spine, small chips, and the folds internally and professionally reinforced. Basis for Stanley Kubrick's final film, *Eyes Wide Shut*. Exceptionally uncommon. Sydney Pollack, who appears in the film, commented about Kubrick's films: "They divide people. Fortunately for Kubrick, 15 years after the fact they all become classics."
