The English version of *O Continente*, the first book of the author's *Time and the Wind* [*O Tempo e o Vento*] trilogy, first published in Portuguese in seven volumes between 1949 and 1962. The trilogy is considered one of Verissimo's great works and an important Brazilian novel. A handsome copy of the first American edition.
