Softcover. First edition. 12mo. 7pp. Frontispiece reproducing a photograph of John F. Kennedy. French-folded beige wrappers printed in red. A little foxing on the wrappers, near fine. Russell Wiggins, a friend and neighbor of E.B. White in Maine, was nominated by LBJ to be U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. When the appointment was criticized by the New York Times, White responded with this defense of Wiggins, including an afterword by Walter Muir Whitehill. Printed in an edition of 200 copies at the Anthoensen Press.
