Between the Covers

Hardcover. First edition. Single sheet of glossy white stiff paper printed in black, measuring 4 by 18 1/2 inches, folded once to make four pages, illustrated reproducing a photograph of six Jargon publications on front cover, along with printed text; rear cover only prints the following: "Jonathan Williams Publisher. Highlands, North Carolina". Folded to facilitate mailing, faint bend in one corner, else quite clean and near fine. A scarce, early Jargon Society checklist and solicitation for subscribers, issued in late 1958 or early 1959 (the checklist includes one title with a 1959 publication date). Unrecorded by *OCLC*, unrecorded by Jaffe *Jonathan Williams: A Bibliographical Checklist*. Published as an appeal for annual subscribers to Jargon, and also as a checklist of the first thirty publications by Jargon including brief information about each publication, noting original published price, edition size, and indicating if the publications are out-of-print. The checklist includes a printed statement about Jargon, presumably written by Jonathan Williams.
