The Austin Singers of Palmyra, N.J. Will Appear in Concert

Atlantic City, New Jersey: Motley's Century Press, [circa 1964].

Price: $375.00

Unbound. Large poster. Measuring 14" x 22". Photographically illustrated on thin green card stock. Bottom corners a bit chipped, some sunning at the extremities, very good or a little better. Stock poster with a central image of five African-American singers (three men and two women), with the spaces for place, date, sponsor, and time left blank. We could find mention of the gospel group performing between 1963-1967, reportedly at hundreds of mostly A.M.E. churches. In 1969, the founder of the group, William Austin, was found stabbed to death in his Clayton, New Jersey home at the age of 38 in an apparently unsolved homicide. *OCLC* locates no copies of this poster.
