Corrigenda tipped in. Hinges cracked with two inch tear on rear joint, numerous "Lotus Club" stamps throughout, extremities a bit worn, thus a good only copy. Inscribed by the author on the half title: "The Lotus Club, New York, With the author's compliments, Johnsonian Club. Brisbane." The Lotus Club was originally established as a Gentleman's Club in New York City but has since allowed women and has had some notable literary members such as Mark Twain, Margaret Mead, Mary Higgins Clark, Tom Wolfe, and many others. Scarce with author's inscription, *OCLC* locates only 12 copies over 4 records.
