[Photo Album]: St. Louis

St. Louis: circa 1900s.

Price: $950.00

Softcover. Oblong octavo. Stapled album lacking the boards measuring 7" x 5.5". Contained within are 82 sepia toned photographs, most measuring 3.25" x 3.25", affixed to stiff gray paper with captions. Lacking the boards with some toning and chips thus very good. A collection of photographs of a group of presumably Americans at the turn of the century on various outings and trips. The early pictures are of ladies in fancy hats, one in a horse drawn carriage, and one captioned "Joe" of a man rowing a small boat. Most of the captions put the album in St. Louis. There are images of the group at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, ice skating in Tower Grove Park, and some of street cars. Domestic scenes of women hugging, posing on beds, and in gardens are seen throughout. One image has a group of women posing on a boat. A pleasant assemblage of the midwest at the beginning of the 20th century.
