Signed by the author in the year of publication: "Respectfully yours, Dan Beard 1904." A novel of social agitation, about murderous Pinkertons terrorizing Pennsylvania mine workers, by the man who would go on to found the Boy Scouts of America. Very uncommon in the especially thin jacket. The jacket art references a scale balancing despotism, anarchy, and equity.
