Hardcover. First edition. 194pp. (1pp. ad). A touch of foxing to the endpapers (from contact with the jacket flaps) else fine in a lovely, about fine dustwrapper with a couple of minute chips. The first American book on television, the book contains a comprehensive historical overview (just two years after Philo Farnsworth applied for his first patent), much technical data, heavily illustrated with diagrams and photographs (as well as one color plate), and speculation about the future of the technology. Quickly reprinted, the first edition is exceptionally scarce in dustwrapper. *Shiers. Early Television: A Bibliographic Guide* #1899.
