Out of the Sunless Caves

New York: The Acorn Press, 1945.

Price: $750.00

Softcover. First edition. Quarto. Mimeographed sheets stapled into paper wrappers with affixed leather label on the front wrap. Label affixed with tape, possibly as issued, small nicks and tears to the wrappers, very good or better. Inscribed by the author in 1945, with a Autograph Poem Signed pasted over most of the inscription. Another Autograph Poem (unsigned) is laid in. This poem is soiled, has a tape repair, and has various notes on the verso. One of 300 copies. Exceptionally scarce, and obviously homemade volume of poetry. Chumbly was an unrelenting modernist, a friend of Kenneth Patchen, and a relatively early magazine publisher of Charles Bukowski. *OCLC* locates no copies.
