Hardcover. First edition. Blue cloth with printed paper labels. Modest evidence of erased inscription on the front fly. Binding foxed with a tanned spine and a couple of splash marks on the front cover, corners bumped, endleaves tanned, sound and about very good, lacking the dust jacket. Poems about the Maine landscapes that were the central subject and focus of Hartley's mature painting. As well as being a poet and popularizer of the Surrealist movement in America, Hartley was perhaps America's most important Modernist painter.
