Unbound. 9" x 13.5". Gouache on water-color board. Early morning light fills the scene, the hunters' scattering shot is prominently detailed, suggesting that the painting might have been produced for a shot or powder advertisement (on the verso are some blue pencil codes that are consistent with that use, as well as mounting traces). The painting is characteristic of Hunt's pallet with yellow, pink and blue skies; blue hills, blue-green water reflecting yellow light, and tan grasses with purple shadows. Signed in the author's characteristic form: "Lynn / Bogue / Hunt" near the lower left edge. Fine condition, with but a few tiny spots in the image. Hunt's paintings are eagerly sought in the sporting world.
