Inscribed by the author (where the bookplate presumably had covered it): "For my dear Elena from the author, Louise Ward." A romance set in Hawaii, and an exceptionally scarce book – *OCLC* lists no copies, and we could find no mention of either this title, or the author, in other conventional sources.
