[Broadside]: Marriage Certificate

Chicago: P.P. & F. Co., [1910].

Price: $3,000.00

Unbound. Broadside. Measuring 16" x 20". Central image of an African-American couple in wedding attire with a minister between them holding a Bible. Below is a form with blanks to enter the names of the couple, date of the ceremony, and space for witness signatures, flanked by cherubs with two hands shaking with the sentiment "Good Luck" beneath. The central image is circled in a printed oval frame surrounded by a chain (the bond of marriage) and decorative ribbons, on a field of purple. Unused, a little sunning at the upper edges, else about fine. A cheerful broadside designed as a joyous recognition for a newly married couple to display in their home. While the publisher remains a mystery, this certificate was sold by the Consolidated Portrait & Frame Company in their 1910 catalog as "Good Luck Marriage Certificate" No. 1900. Rare. *OCLC* locates no copies.
