The Brooklyn Dodgers: An Informal History

New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, (1945).

Price: $200.00

Hardcover. First edition. Crown a little bumped, modest light wear, thus very good, lacking the dustwrapper. Inscribed by the author: "To Charlie – As always. Frank Graham." The recipient, Charlie Segar, was a baseball writer for the *Brooklyn Citizen*. In the 1920s he was the director of the Baseball Writers' Association. He later served seventeen years as the Secretary-Treasurer of Major League Baseball, mostly under another former sportswriter, Commissioner Ford Frick. A nice association – Segar started his career covering the Dodgers.
