[Original illustration]: Putt Putt

Price: $3,500.00

Unbound. Pen and ink drawing of two flappers, arm-in-arm, admiring a young man, apparently the champion of the Putt Putt miniature golf course. The young man outfitted in visored cap, polo shirt, and checked knickerbocker pants gesticulates animatedly with his golf club. 11" x 14", matted to 7" x 10". Glued into the matte and stamped "Saks Fifth Avenue" on the verso, as well as an apparent owner name and address ("Stuart List, 1420 Lake Shore"). Faint toning in middle of the image possibly from glue residue on the verso from this or an earlier mount, corners of the matte bumped, very good or better. Not signed by artist in the visible area, and unexamined out of the matte, but unquestionably by Held, the greatest cartoon chronicler of the Jazz Age flappers and their male "sheiks."
