Faint offsetting on title and facing page, slight stains on the boards, a good copy in good third printing dust jacket with light staining on the rear panel, and small chips and tears. Inscribed by Lowell to African-American poet Owen Dodson: "For Owen Dodson from Robert Lowell. Yaddo. July 1947." Yaddo is a writers' community located in Saratoga Springs, New York that has been host to scores of notable writers since its founding in 1926, and was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2013. Lowell's first commercial publication, and winner of the Pulitzer Prize.
