Spine base very gently bumped, last few leaves with a tiny corner crease, about fine in a moderately worn, very good dust jacket with the spine lettering sunned and a couple of small stains on the lower panel. Warmly Inscribed to noted English poet Geoffrey Hill facing the title page: "for Geoffrey Hill. Please accept this as token of my unconditional admiration and respect for your own work. Anthony Howell." Howell was also a performance artist and a founder of the performance company The Theatre of Mistakes.
