Bound in brown cloth gilt, wrappers bound in; whether issued as such, or rebound by the previous owner is unclear. There is a small number stamp ("0033") on the first page that indicates that it might have been issued in a limited hardbound issue. A little rubbing at the edge of the boards, near fine. Includes essays by Langston Hughes, Saunders Redding, John Henrik Clarke, Julian Mayfield, William Branch, Arna Bontemps, John Oliver Killens, Sarah E. Wright, Samuel W. Allen, Arthur P. Davis, and Loften Mitchell. This copy is Inscribed to African-American artist Ernest Crichlow and his wife Dorothy by several of the contributors, including Clarke, Mayfield, Branch, Killens, Mitchell, John A. Davis, and another that we can't quite make out.
