Unbound. Albumen photograph. 3½" x 5¼" mounted on a 4¼" x 6½" scalloped-edge card mount with the photographer's name below the image. A couple of spots of foxing at the edges of the image else a clear and rich, near fine example. Dougs is pictured in his costume: white shirt, bow-tie and vest of sequined stars, standing on his one useable leg, leaning on an accordion. Born in the 1860s, Dougs was a body anomaly performer with vestigial legs and one vestigial arm.
