[Broadside]: Homecoming Dance the Basie Blast featuring the most Explosive Force in Jazz Count Basie and the 15 Piece Basie Band... Grand Ballroom - Conrad Hilton

[New York? no publisher, circa 1957].

Price: $1,200.00

Unbound. Pictorial broadside or flyer. Measuring 8" x 10½ an matted to 8¼" x 11" in frame. Unexamined out of the frame, the paper is a overall evenly toned, else about fine. Flyer depicts a missile in flight, presumably the missile also provided a "blast" consistent with that provided by the Basie Band. The date of the performance is noted as Saturday, November 9th, although the year is not noted. Between consulting a perpetual calendar and the nod to Cold War imagery our best guess is that this is from 1957. Among other evidence, it should be noted that Basie recorded *The Atomic Mr. Basie* in 1958.
