Between the Covers

Softcover. Exhibition catalog. Square octavo. [12]pp. Illustrated. Covers are moderately tanned and a bit foxed, three small brown cover stains, one of which is at the lower edge of the cover and slightly affects the margins of the first few pages, spine bit creased, very good. Inscribed to Pulitzer-prize winning poet Peter Viereck and his family: "For the Vierecks, affectionately, Zobel," with an approximately 4" x 2" geometric sketch.

Zóbel (1924-1984) was born in Manila to Spanish parents. Harvard educated, he studied with various Boston artists prior to returning to the Philippines where he became involved in the modernist art movement.
