Near fine with a touch of edgewear and small sticker remnant on the front pastedown in very good or better dust jacket sunned at the spine, small stain at one corner and edgewear. Inscribed on the title page: "For Jim and Mary with much Irish love Iris Murdoch Tulane March 1987." Laid in is an Autograph Letter Signed by Murdoch to the same couple, dated a month later, thanking them for their hospitality and good conversation. Murdoch was on a career high in 1987 while visiting Tulane University in New Orleans and again nominated for the Booker Prize.
