Unbound. Real photo postcard. High quality gelatin silver portrait of Baker. Approximately 3½" x 5½". Studio name in the negative. Matted but easily removable. A bit of childish scribbling on the rear of the card, the image is fine. Handwritten message in French in an unknown hand on the verso and postmarked in 1929. Signed in ink at the bottom margin and across the bottom right side of the image: "Josephine Baker 1928." Baker is depicted partially nude with her uplifted arm hiding her breasts, making a silly face as she plays with a toy elephant.
